Dr Shahril is an Associate Professor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and involves in Nutritional Epidemiology and Public Health Nutrition specifically in non-communicable disease (including obesity) prevention and control works. He is actively involved in research related to obesity determinants and healthy ageing trajectories among cancer survivors with the support of local and international grants and collaboration. Dr Shahril works in hand with government agencies, NGOs, and industries to advocate healthy eating, cancer, and obesity prevention to the public. He has been trusted as a member of the Technical Working Group for Nutrition Research under the auspices of the Ministry of Health Malaysia and is involved in various works related to dietary guidelines revision for Malaysia.
