Dr. Gan Wan Ying is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia, where she is also the research coordinator. She served as a council member of MASO from 2019 to 2021 and has been re-elected as Honorary Treasurer for the 17th Council of MASO. Her research focuses on young adult nutrition, behavioural addiction, weight-related self-stigma, early childhood development, malnutrition, disordered eating, body image, and nutrition and health in underprivileged populations. Additionally, Dr. Gan is an active member of several Technical Working Groups (TWGs) under the Ministry of Health Malaysia and has contributed as a key writer for the Malaysian Dietary Guidelines. She is also a member of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) and the Malaysian Society of Body Composition (MSBC). She collaborates with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health and private agencies, to improve nutrition and health outcomes in the community. She is passionate about educating the community on nutrition and health to improve overall well-being.
